Eat This!

#THE4TH… A quick note: Sorry we’re late. There I said it. Now, back to what you came here for… How in the world did July 4th get here so fast?? Time is really flying (faster than usual it seems). I always feel like once the 4th is in your rearview mirror, summer is on the downside. Hhmmmm… Outdoor food fits in well with this particular holiday. Backyard BBQ or beach picnic. Both great 4th options. I’ve got a friend who bakes a pretty mean U.S. flag cake. This thing takes some work. But, it is a no doubt, conversation starter. I can get you the recipe if you’ve got a completely open day in your schedule. After you're stuffed with burgers, chips and potato salad, feel free to kick back and enjoy a Sarasota pyrotechnic display. We’ve got a couple of great sky spectaculars. One over Sarasota Bay OR how about a viewing on our world famous, Siesta Key beach. Both held on Monday the 4th. Whatever your holiday plans, have fun, make sure to celebrate the day and by all means EAT!... GARDEN PARTY, This sounds like a good way to enjoy the 4th. SELBY GARDENS is hosting an All American BBQ. 6PM – 10PM July 4th. Details here... DID SOMEONE SAY BRUNCH?, Everybody likes brunch, right? Well, I know that I do. Down in Venice, the CROWS NEST has a summer brunch that people should be talking about. Sundays, 10AM – 2PM, through summer… BOIL ‘EM, Saturday July 16th marks 9 years since POLO GRILL & BAR’S very first Spyder Broussard Fish Fry & Shrimp Boil. It’s still going strong. This is a fun event. You should make an effort to get over there… NEW CHOICES, Summer is the time for some new menu rollouts. TOMMY BAHAMA'S on St. Armands adds a few new choices to the menu. Enjoy a Pan Seared Whole Branzino and chase that with a Brown Butter Blondie. Yum!!

INS & OUTS… A little mildly procrastinated spring cleaning was in order around here. So, we got on it (finally). Removed from our database since the last issue, Adriatico, Aaron's Fish Camp (lots of SK rumors surrounding this village restaurants space. So many people have been whispering “Steakhouse” for years. But, who the heck really knows…), G's Pizzeria, Morel (the new La Scarpetta) AND Pattigeorge's (Boy, it’s tough to let that one go). The restaurant database stands at 340 entries. As usual, If you know someone who might like to get their very own FEASTnews, send them this link to check out our past issues and signup! Thanks for reading!
